Entered the space
To heal the wounded root
Deep black shards
She showed me
And deep black oozing shame
Around betrayal
I protect
The still baby born cold
The song of bodies long buried
In the snow
I see I am to join them
Curled beneath the roots and thorns
To sleep once more
Be a tree
Before the mountain
No pretending the birds always know
Reach with hair into the wind
Let the earth move you
As you drink from it
Unspool like a song your humanness
And find the thicket path
To another you
I just cut my hair short again, and it’s amazing how powerful something so simple can be.
